MIET -Bandel Dedicated to Excellence

The Sponsor

Modern Institute of Engineering & Technology (MIET) – Dedicated To Excellence – was established in 2010 at Bandel, approximately an hour’s drive from Kolkata city. Situated amidst verdant abundance and natural setting of semi urbanity, we constantly strive to impart a process of learning to our students the primary tenet of which – as we believe- is not a mere degree; it is the complete progression of a human mind towards a future that will enable her or him to strive towards sustained excellence and contribute to the nation and the global human race. Our mission is to foster innovation, creativity and enterprising spirit among students, to emerge as successful entrepreneurs and global technocrats.

We dedicate ourselves to contributing towards a vibrant India in terms of resources. Our systems and policies are directed towards creating an atmosphere of holistic and exciting learning, such that it not only equips a young mind with the practical skill sets and needs of the current industry environment but also encourages the mind to reach out beyond the immediate periphery and explore.

Why we are sponsoring this game

Kho kho, India’s very own sport and much-loved too, is drawing the attention of large companies as it readies to be presented in an Indian Premier League-style format to viewers.

Kho kho is a sport that everyone has played in their childhood. It has a deep connect with the masses. Like kabaddi, kho kho is a fast-paced game. There is constant movement and pace that keeps fans engaged. This got us excited, apart from it being an indigenous sport, which we wanted to give a modern avatar.

Kho kho is a home-grown sport. There are local units in multiple states and districts. It has an easy-to-play format and is followed by many people across the country. Globally, indigenous sports have enjoyed a high level of viewership in the countries they are played. So, we wanted to invest in a tournament that promotes sports such as kho kho. We have taken a step in that direction by investing in the Kho Kho league. Besides, we are in an agenda to promote the game which involves the less privileged of our nation.
