As per the regulations of the West Bengal University of Technology and A.I.C.T.E.; an applicant aspiring admission in B.Tech Engineering Degree course, must have passed or appeared in 10+2 Higher Secondary or equivalent examination with English and with 45% marks (40% for for SC/ST) in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as the eligibility criteria for admission.
Since Modern Institute of Engineering & Technology is affiliated to the West Bengal University of Technology, any additional/ updated condition for eligibility, as prescribed by the University, shall be binding for the college.
The applicants will have to appear and qualify in the Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) (or AIEEE) conducted by the WBJEB, Government of West Bengal and must have to hold a rank in the merit list published by the Central Selection Committee or AIEEE.
90% of the B. Tech students are admitted on the basis of their merit ranks in Joint Entrance Examination conducted by the West Bengal JEE Board and its subsequent counselling process and rest 10% seats are filled up from the qualified candidatets in All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE).
The B. Tech courses will have additional 10% intake at the 2nd year level as Lateral Entry (through JELET EXAM.) from amongst the diploma qualified students in appropriate branches of engineering.
