The MODERN INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY (MIET) is situated in Rajhat area of Bandel town in Hooghly District. Bandel is adjacent to CHUCHURA, the Headquarter of Hooghly district. Particularly this area of Hooghly District is rich for its historical and cultural heritage, which has been eventually enriched with the foot prints of Dutch and French missionaries and settlers, way back in sixteenth century. The birth-place of “Amar Katha Shilpi” Sarat Chandra Chattopadhaya is situated very close to our college. The birth-places of “Sri Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa” and “Ma Sarodamoni” are also nearby to our college. Some of the literary works of “Sahitya Samrat Bankim Chandra Chattopadhaya” and “Biswakabi Rabindranath Tagore” have been done during their stay in this place. In addition to all these, this area is prolific with a number of General and Technical Degree Colleges, Govt. Training College and a good number of secondary and higher secondary schools. Our Modern Institute of Engineering and Technology is undoubtedly an addition of a new feather to the crown of Hooghly District in the field of technical education.
