Looking into all mundane matters, it is evident that any realistic achievement is the transformation of a dream, first conceived by an unconfoundable spirited person, who can learn and earn from failure and ultimately raise the flag of success high at the end of the day. A similar story is there behind the curtain in the matter of presently visible glorious existence of MODERN INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY (MIET).
The only visionary and architect behind the establishment of this educational Institution is Shri Rana Deb, who learned to face and fight against the odds of life from his beloved father Shri Badal Chandra Deb, whose untimely demise gave an unquenchable thrust to his son to immortalize the memory of his departed father through a creation up to the level of a Degree Engineering College. Hence, the manifestation of MIET.
As the first step to translate the idea into reality, a Trust was formed entitled “Badal Deb Memorial Educational Foundation” and then registered (dated 29th August, 2008) under the relevant act to start the work for setting up Modern Institute of Engineering and Technology. A wide spread land was purchased in a semi urban environment at Rajhat, Bandel, Dt. Hoghly, to build the sprawling campus of MIET (the construction work started on 21st September, 2008). The Institution admitted its first batch of students in the Academic session 2010 – 2011.
